Purpose

To provide a structured, MARINA-aligned framework for managing any emergency, technical, environmental, health-related, or personnel issues that may disrupt distance-learning (DL) delivery. The procedure safeguards trainee welfare, preserves academic integrity, and maintains regulatory compliance by defining clear actions, timelines, and responsibilities.

Scope

Applies to all trainees, instructors, IT personnel, administrative staff, and senior management involved in distance learning or blended STCW courses delivered through the NMP Learning Management System (LMS). It covers emergency identification, communication, mitigation, recovery, and post-event evaluation for both trainee-specific incidents and entity-level disruptions.
